Some
activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League of Chittagong University
beat up a student at the university railway station on Saturday over a trifle matter.
Witnesses
said Helal was gossiping with his three female friends at the university
railway station.
A
group of 10-12 BCL activists, led by Rahat Hossen Himel, vice-president of the
university unit, beat up Helal as he protested at stalking of his female
friends.
Informed,
police rushed to the spot and saved Helal.
Earlier,
BCL men had also beaten up two students — Sabbir, an MBA student of marketing
department, and Pavel Riyad, 3rd year student of history department — on
December 26 in a train compartment at CU railway station in the presence of the
officier-in-charge Abul Kashem of Hathazari police station.
