A jute mill worker
was knocked down and killed by a truck at Demra in Dhaka
on Thursday.
The deceased was
identified as Nowsher Bapari, 38, of Nagorpur in Tangail district.
He was a resident
of Sharulia WASA road at Demra.
His widow Barun
Begum told reporters at Dhaka
Medical College
Hospital that a truck had
hit him in front of Karim Jute Mills at Demra and sped away while he was going
to work in the morning.
He was taken to
the DMCH in a critical condition where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
The body was sent to the DMCH morgue for
post-mortem examination.
