Body of missing youth recovered at Benapole

The Benapole port police on Saturday evening unearthed the remains of a young man who went missing about two weeks ago.  

The body of M Badal Mandal, 22, who remained missing since February 4, was buried under the floor of a grocery shop at Kagajpukur under Sharsha upazila.

Benapole port police officer-in-charge AKM Faruk Hossain said they recovered the body digging the floor of a shop owned by one Masum.

Three people were arrested after Badal’s brother Shahjahan recorded a general diary.

The OC said the arrested, Mantu, Abdul Maleq and Siraj, in primary interrogation confessed to the murder and said they killed him for the motorbike Badal drove to carry passengers on fare.

The body was sent to Jessore Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.

According to the police, Badal was from village Kandapur under the district’s Sharsha upazila.
