Effects and Results of Controlling, Taming and Corruption of the Human Tongue in Islam

Allah (SWT) the Exalted said in Noble Qur'an: "There is no good in
most of their secret counsels except (in his) who enjoins charity or goodness or reconciliation between people and whoever does this seeking Allah's pleasure, We will give him a mighty reward." [Sura An-Nisa 4:114]
Imam Sajjad (as) says in Risalat Al-Huquq (Treatise On Rights): And the right of the tongue is that you consider it too noble for obscenity, accustom it to good, direct it to politeness, do not use it except in situations of needs and benefits of the religion and this world. As well as refraining from any meddling in which there is little to be gained. There is no security from its harm that accompanies its small benefits. It is the witness to and the evidence of the existence of the intellect. The demonstration of an intelligent person's intellect is through their reputation of good speech. There is no power but in Allah (SWT) the High, the Great.

An Islamic point of view: Pride over Piety, Pride (Kibr/Takabbur) is a barrier to Paradise

Truly Allah knows what they hide and what they manifest; surely

He does not love the proud. Noble Qur'an (16:23)

Holy Prophet of Islam (SAW) says: "He who has a grain of pride in his heart will not enter Paradise." Hence, Pride (Kibr/Takabbur) is a barrier to Paradise.

When a man feels superiority over others and with this a sort of inward elation, this is called pride. Pride man considers himself superior to others for certain qualities of his self. He allots one position to his self and another to others, and then thinks that his position is higher, and is therefore elated. This "puffed up" feeling which imparts a sense of "touch me not" is called pride (Kibr/Takabbur).

An Islamic perspective: Joking Around (10)

Joking around is considered to be bad in Islam. Prophet

Muhammad (saw) said: "Avoid arguing with your brethren and abstain from excessive joking around."

Prophet Muhammad (saw) also said: "I tell jokes, but never excessively tell jokes and never say what is not right."

Contentment in Islam: Secret of true Happiness

As we all pass through life looking at people and materialistic

things around us, we often tend to look at people above us and desire to be like them. But Islam advises us to look at those below us and feel contempt at what Allah (SWT) has provided us. Listed below would be some practical suggestions on achieving this contentment and repelling the greed of want of more.

Note: Contentment is the neuro-physiological experience of satisfaction and being at ease in one's situation. It is said that a man complained about his old shoes until he saw a man who had no feet.

"Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realization of how much you already have."

Anger in Islam, Anger (Ghadab), Bad Temper, Human Vices, Anger Management in Islam

 Anger in Islam
Protect yourself from anger

Those who spend (freely) whether in prosperity or in adversity; who restrain their anger and pardon men; And Allah loves those who do good. (Noble Qur'an, 3:134)

Anger is a mental condition that provokes the excitement of man in words and deeds. Because of the dangers and sins such like mocking, gibe, obscenity, beating, killing, and the like evildoings - that are resulted from anger, it has been considered as the door to every evil.

Inspirational Stories for Kids: Boy who cried Wolf Story

Once there was a shepherd boy who had to look after a flock of

sheep. One day, he felt bored and decided to play a trick on the villagers. He shouted, "Help! Wolf! Wolf!"

The villagers heard his cries and rushed out of the village to help the shepherd boy. When they reached him, they asked, "Where is the wolf?"

The shepherd boy laughed loudly, "Ha, Ha, Ha! I fooled all of you. I was only playing a trick on you."

Favorite Stories for Children:

An interesting insight into decision making

"Remember that what's right isn't always popular and what's popular isn't always right."

A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in use while the other disused. Only one child played on the disused track, the rest on the operational track.

The train is coming, and you are just beside the track interchange. You can make the train change its course to the disused track and save most of the kids. However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the disused track would be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go its way?

Kiamat in Islam

By Khandaker Nazneen Sultana

The Qur’an reminds us time and again that this universe has been created temporarily and at an appointed time it will surely be annihilated.  The exact date and time of this event, termed as Kiamat, is known to Allah Alone. The Qur’an and the Hadith have however informed us about various signs which will occur prior to Kiamat and which will be indicative of the closeness of the event.
As soon as Kiamat is over, the Death in the form of a sheep will be slaughtered and announcement made that there will be no more deaths. The Jannatis will welcome this announcement with joy and the Hell dwellers will mourn the death of the Death.

Hadith about Accepting Information Given by a Truthful Person

Volume 9, Book 91, Number 352:

Narrated Malik:
We came to the Prophet and we were young men nearly of equal ages and we stayed with him for twenty nights. Allah's Apostle was a very kind man and when he realized our longing for our families, he asked us about those whom we had left behind. When we informed him, he said, "Go back to your families and stay with them and teach them (religion) and order them (to do good deeds). The Prophet mentioned things some of which I remembered and some I did not. Then he said, "Pray as you have seen me praying, and when it is the time of prayer, one of you should pronounce the call (Adhan) for the prayer and the eldest of you should lead the prayer. "
