Arms trader held in Rajshahi

The Rapid Action Battalion arrested an arms trader along with a foreign firearm and bullets at village Alipur of Godagari in Rajshahi Wednesday night, says a press release.

The arrested was identified as Rabiul Islam, 45, son of the late Gias Uddin of village Bijoynagar of Godagari in the district.

The battalion members came to know that a gang of arms traders were staying at village Alipur for selling arms.

A RAB-5 team of the Rajshahi railway colony camp rushed to the spot and arrested Rabiul, recovered one 7.65mm Pistol (made by Italy), bullets and a magazine from his possession.

The others members of the gang managed to flee the scene before RAB members reached the spot.

A case was filed in this connection.
