An
alleged thief was beaten to death by a mob at village Rajapur in Companigonj of
Noakhali early Friday.
Humayun
Kabir, officer-in-charge of Companigonj police station, said Saiful had sneaked
into the house of Md Abdul Hai and picked valuables.
As
he was trying to make him way out, the people inside woke up and overpowered
him.
Hearing
the screams neighbours went there and beat him up leaving him dead on the spot.
Police
sent the body to Noakhali Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
A
case was filed by the police accusing 500 unnamed people of the murder.
