A man was killed over a land
dispute at Islampur upazila in the district on Thursday.
The victim was identified as
Hazrat Ali, 48, at village Chiner Char of the upazila.
Police and local people said
Hazrat Ali had a long dispute over a piece of land with his neighbour Akbar
Ali.
On Thursday morning, people of
Akbar Ali went to occupy and forcibly plough the disputed land.
As Hazrat Ali tried to resist Akbar’s
men, they started beating him up, he died on the spot.
Police sent the body to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for post-mortem
examination.
A
case was filed in this connection.
